Florida Palms Academy
Florida Palms Academy is a Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP) and boarding school located in Hollywood, Florida (Broward County), specifically designed for elementary and middle school aged children and adolescents (6-14) who can benefit from psychiatric residential treatment. This intensive program currently limits admission to 20 children and provides both an individualized educational curriculum coupled with a therapeutic environment. Our treatment center’s average length of stay is approximately 6 – 9 months.
Florida Palms Academy is a regional community-based residential treatment facility that focuses on the deinstitutionalization of emotionally disturbed children. The program is designed to therapeutically assist the children in working through issues that have led to their current emotional and behavioral condition. Parents and family members are provided with supportive systemic interventions to enhance treatment outcomes. The children are then transitioned back home or to a less restrictive environment.
Florida Palms Academy encourages students to explore their emotional issues, under close clinical supervision, while providing a superior academic environment. Florida Palms Academy has gathered a team of professional and support staff who are experts in their fields and deeply committed to the care and treatment of children and their families. Our team includes educators, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, counselors, direct care staff and support staff, all of whom are experienced in their disciplines. Children, parents and visitors to Florida Palms immediately feel that they have entered a caring environment. |
